FLIGHTS

The closest airport to the wedding location is Malaga-Cost del Sol (AGP) in Malaga, Spain. There are essentially no direct flights from NYC/Hartford/Boston. The most straightforward way to get there is a one layover flight through Dublin, Lisbon, or Madrid. Generally, flights involve one layover and are 9-12 hours total travel time (includes layover).

Hajar and Tim have booked a flight with TAP Air Portugal airline. It is a 9 hour flight that cost $920 round trip. It has one layover in Lisbon. We will happily share the flight details with you if you would like to fly with us.

Otherwise, we can confirm that there are currently (as of 1/15/23) several different flights hovering around this price throughout May. TAP Air Portugal, Aer Lingus, and British Airways are a few of the airlines that have the most reasonable prices ($800-$1000 with checked baggage).

LODGING

Although the flight can be pricey, once in Spain you will find great value compared to the US. Things like hotels, Airbnbs, food, wine, car rentals, and other travel expenses are typically significantly cheaper than the US. Below are just a few examples of MANY that illustrate the great value of Airbnbs in Southern Spain. No shortage of affordable and luxurious lodging between Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com.

Periana is the small town where the wedding is and has several lovely Airbnbs with 10-20 minutes of our venue: It is about 50 minutes from Malaga’s Airport and 45 minutes to the coast’s beautiful beaches.

Malaga is the closest city and and closest airport. It is a 50 minute drive from the venue in Periana.

Seville, Spain:

2 hour 15 minute drive from Malaga

Granada, Spain

1 hour 30 minute drive from Malaga

Lastly, Malaga Airport has direct flights to dozens of cities all over Western Europe and North Africa. Flights across these regions are often 3 hours or less and less than 100 Euros round trip.
